DIRECTOR, FOOD SERVICE

 

In charge of Senior Connections’ kitchen, Tara is responsible for preparing more than 2,500 meals daily for our Meals on Wheels program, congregate meals, and daily food service at our Connections’ Café.

She works closely with our registered dietitian and chief operating officer to provide great tasting, nutritious meals on time and on budget. She is also responsible for filling our Connections’ Catering orders for clients throughout metro Atlanta.

Prior to joining Senior Connections, Tara served as Executive Sous Chef at Atlanta’s Luciano’s Ristorante Italiano. She was involved in the opening of two of the restaurant’s locations, developed vendor relationships, managed food purchases, worked to create culinary dishes meeting specific dietary restrictions and improved inventory control processes.

She also has experience in the hospitality industry, special events food preparation and banqueting.

Tara attended Le Cordon Blue College of Culinary Arts in Atlanta and graduated cum laude with an Associate of Occupational Science Degree. She had previously attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.

Tara is certified in Servsafe and Nutrition and has received the Management Candidacy Review Board endorsement by the Marriott Executive Committee and a Perfect Attendance Award at the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts.
